harder, better, faster, modder
It's now Nov.11th. Any updates?
I know it's waaay too early for me to ask, but - when will you have more kits? Just wondering if you had an idea.
Just a completely random guess, but I'd assume Mike wants to get the current orders out first, after the delays and QC issues he's been running into.
Did batch 2 go out? Has batch 3? Please update.
I'm in batch #2 and still waiting...
I'm interested in purchasing one of these electronic kits as my daughter is about get her library to print out the case. However, I'm interested to know how long the wait may be to have the electronics shipped?
It is now the 16th and no update in 2 weeks. Whats happening? I paid money for this, the least you can do is provide updates.
Hey man any updates?
https://i.imgur.com/4HN7GW9.png <--- "I will update every day" is what you wrote. And there hasn't been an update in over 2 weeks. I know you're only one man and this is the first time you're doing this. I have no problem waiting and I'm sure everyone else feels the same, but we need to be updated. Even if it's a simple "worked all day, couldn't make it to the post office" or "still waiting on the pcbs"
What the hell~!!! no updates~!!! If you can't make a promise, why don't you give us the money back?Who is fuck just waiting without any notice?
Keep waiting, I got mine. and to the "update every day" point, I took it as: update every day that I have new info.... I get why others did not though. Stay positive, he is just one man trying something he has never done before, and all in his SPARE time.
It is not "in his spare time" anymore. He took money for a service. I am not asking him to ship immediately or being unreasonable in expectations. What i am expecting is information and updates on a product i PAID MONEY FOR. I don't want my money back, and i don't mind waiting. What i do want is to know that he hasn't decided its to much work and is just ignoring us and keeping my money. So updates is not a big request. 2 minutes every few days seems reasonly.
what batch did you buy?
Im part of batch 2 so im hoping to get tracking or confirmation soon, im sure mikedoing his best we just need to be patient.
We don't know he did his best or not.One thing that We sure is he broken his words.
here is a comment from the main shipping delay post from October. Jurgen got his confirmation on the 19th so clearly Mike is still working on shipping batch 2.Jurgen Kramer 17 Nov 2016, 16:26:00Still waiting as well (batch 2). I'll give it a few more days...ReplyRepliesJurgen Kramer 19 Nov 2016, 09:56:00Yay! Got the shipping mail!
How fast it is...At least, He should comment all the reply...if he has regret us.
I'm Batch 4 so I guess it's not gonna happen this year...he could at least give weekly updates.
Agreed. Like many i´m not in hurry but some updates would be nice. Oh well i trust this guy and going to wait blindly...Now its starting to be month since last update so there could be updates, or i hope at least.
Hi mike, sorry to hear about the delay. Sourcing parts can be frustrating!
super late updating~!
I'm part of batch 1 and haven't got it yet. He's not responding to my email either.
Thanks to Mike for the excellent NES design! Made two for my brother and I. Had to make some small changes to the design to accommodate my LED and switch parts(yes I understand my circuit doesn't cut power to the pi).https://www.dropbox.com/sh/v5ckdo202o7801f/AAD8v2fAEO8zlOV5z0pD4uiqa?dl=0
To those who have paid for it, how much was the kit?
Like $50 or $60 USD
I just filed a claim with paypal to get my money back. I'm batch 1, no response here for over a month now and he hasn't responded to any of my multiple emails. I suggest anyone else waiting do the same. I've been through this before with other kit sellers on other sites and the writing is on the wall folks. I'm sure he started out with good intentions but having spent all our money on production pcb runs that turned out bad (either by a bad design on his part or manufactures defect), he can't refund nor go out of pocket to get them fixed so basically he's gone incognito. Sad but happens more often then you'd think.
I'm doing the same.Sorry Mike, great idea but you can't take peoples money and expect them to wait forever. You have missed your own deadlines several times now.
I filed a claim too. I feel sorry, I really would like to have the kit, but one month of silence does not looks to lead to something good.
I'm going to wait it out a bit longer but I don't blame you nor anyone else that files a claim. A month without updates or even an email? Not cool.
The fact that he says he shipped batch 2 and some of you are batch 1 and said you haven't received yet doesn't make this seem promising any longer. I'm part of batch 5 at this rate I wouldn't get it for months to come and that's if I'm lucky so I too put my claim in as well. Maybe wants he gets caught up and provides updates like he is suppose to maybe I will try again. Until then I will not hold my breath. A weekly update is not much to ask in my opinion.
please update, are you still alive??
That's why I came up with my own solutions. Really not that hard. Of course if you want plug n play then good luck.
Evan - would you be willing to share your solutions at all? so us going the DIY route can make some progress and get our builds finished before xmas? that would be really appreciated if you could ;-)
My setup is simple. I didn't want the NFC reader. My setup has a power LED, a power on/off button, a reset button and a temp controlled fan powered by mosfet circuit. My setup runs the sudo shutdown -h now command when the power button is pressed. Pressing it again turns it on. But...if you want a circuit that actually removes power from the pi when you hit the power button you will need Mike's kit. I don't personally see why that is necessary. I like the simplicity of my setup.
Anyone know if he is ok?
He could be working hard on shipping the kits, he could be watching the sunset at a beach somewhere in the caribbean with our money or he could have had an accident... who knows. Fact is that we didn't hear anything from him for over a month now. I'm going to file a claim with Paypal.
I filed a claim too
Anyone try and call him? His number can be found on the daftmike registrar information online
i cant find his number in the RIPE register could you post it please ?
i found it +1.4806242599
sry wrong number
I know you're trying to be helpful but I don't think doxxing the man is the right way to go. Who knows what kind of whacko can take his info and do something with it.
I will be filing a claim also. This makes me so sad :(The worst part is even if he has issues, if he communicated some people might help him. This was an awesome thing.HOWERVER i would lay bets that he got a Cease and Desist by nintendo.
Yeah, even if some of the parts are defective, at this point even receiving the stuff that ISN'T (the USB extender, off the shelf NFC part, etc.) would be nice.As for the cease and desist, maybe, but the parts that apply to Nintendo's trademarks/copyright would be the 3D design of the case and cartridge. While yes, the NESPi branding could potentially be an issue, I'd think that an NFC reader and button kit wouldn't cause much trouble.
Your probably right.
(Batch 2)i was emailing Mike about 1 week ago and he did apologizing for the delay and lack of communication on the webpage and that he was in a location with spotty internet but he assured me that batch 2 kits we still being shipped as of the week of Dec, 5th. Hopfully we can get some feedback from some of the batch 2 people if they get confirmation emails.
Not sure I believe you. Why would he answer just you and not here on the blog?
Exactly. Spotty internet or not, if he had a connection to reply to an email, he had a connection to post an update. And in a spotty area for over a month?
To me he has responded to all the emails that I have sent to him. It is clear that Mike is working hard, he has to wait for the components and PCBs to arrive and then solder and program them by himself. Surely he has been overwhelmed by all the requests. Give it a little more time
Thank you For the update Steven, I will wait for batch2 people to chime in before filing any kind of claim
Im in batch 2 and should receive my Package in the first week of November hmm still waiting
Has anyone heard of someone else designing a board, I founds this blog recently, and I dont know if I can wait as long as you guys have.
You mean you can't wait forever?
got my Money back from paypal
guess this not happening
if you do nothing to contact paypal nothing will haben this is right
just got my money back from PayPal. If he hasn't gotten into any serious accidents, then he clearly took the money and ran. No way someone can be away this long in a location with "spotty internet" and not have a post or 2 explaining whats going on. Its a shame because he seemed like a nice guy over email... turned out to be a scammer.
Hi, is there any information about how to make the PCB'S? Watching the situation and with the Mike's NESPi DIY Parts List from amazon all I'm missing is the instructions about the PCB's.Thank you.
I join the proposal. Mike should upload the designs of PCBs
I second that. I've ordered the parts from the list too and need to find a DIY guide or at least some help to figure it out myself. The kit would've been nice, but given the current situation I'm disconcerted.
There are several schematics and PCBs posted here that are compatible with DaftMike's design.https://www.facebook.com/groups/miniNESbuilders/
I really had hoped my kit would be here by now.
AFTER READING MOST OF THESE COMMENTS I'M GUESSING I SHOULD FIND ANOTHER WAY OF MAKING THIS BUILD HAPPEN
How much does the kits cost? Can't find that answer anywhere in this blog!
As you know, It's sold out. but you don't have to buy it because mike is swindler. He never answering email and he got my money without send kits.
i send him this email and hope he have enough guts to give us an status update on the blogHello, please make an Update on your blog about Status of electronics kit for nespi.People are angry because no news or anything. i hope you do this. we give you time but when you are playing dead there are more and more people think about scam. And som day people can make a complain to the police and you are in big troubles.for me i can wait and i believe others too, but make an update on the blog.
I got my refund through PayPal, was supposed to ship in October but with no updates whatsoever I think 3 months is a fair grace period. I spent a lot of time on the case though, so might buy one again if he can get the shipping sorted out.
